Exploring Zimbabwe in 2025

In August 2025, I had the opportunity to visit a friend in Zimbabwe, whom I first met in Argentina in 2018. It was my first solo trip to the country, and I was pleasantly surprised by how safe and peaceful it felt.

Despite its economic and political challenges, Zimbabwe is full of warmth – both in its people and its landscapes.

A Road Trip Adventure

We set out on a cross-country road trip, navigating bumpy roads that tested both patience and tyres – two flats along the way! Still, every challenge was worthwhile when we arrived in Victoria Falls, one of the most breathtaking natural wonders I have ever seen.

I also took a helicopter ride over the falls, which offered a unique perspective of its beauty and scale.

Nature & Lasting Impressions

Another highlight was visiting the World’s View in Nyanga National Park, where the vast landscape stretched out endlessly – a truly stunning sight.

I also enjoyed a quiet solo hike, taking in the peaceful surroundings. In Hwange National Park, the wildlife was more reserved during my visit, but that just felt like a reason to return.

Zimbabwe left me with the sense of a country both resilient and beautiful, and it is a place I would be happy to explore again.
