Croatia – My Home Country

Croatia, my home country, is known for its diverse natural beauty, from its eight national parks to more than 1,200 islands along the clear Adriatic Sea.

It is a place where you can hike through forests, explore historic towns, and relax by the water – all in one trip.

Samobor – My Hometown

I spent 21 years in Samobor, a charming town surrounded by hills and forests just outside Zagreb. It is known for its relaxed atmosphere, historic centre, and the famous kremšnita, a traditional puff pastry filled with a light custard cream.

The town’s setting, with green hills and walking paths, makes it a peaceful escape from the busy capital.

Croatian Islands

I have had the chance to visit several of Croatia’s islands and I may be biased, but I believe Croatia has the most beautiful and cleanest sea I have ever seen.

From Krk, a family-friendly island with green landscapes, to Pag, renowned for its unique, rocky terrain shaped by the strong bura wind, and the Life on Mars Trail, where the scenery appears almost otherworldly, each island has its own charm.

Further south lies Hvar, Croatia’s sunniest island, with around 2,700 hours of sunshine per year. Covered in vineyards, olive groves, and lavender fields, it is a perfect place to enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle by the sea.
