As Vienna is close to many European cities, I began taking short trips to nearby destinations, including Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, which is easy to explore on foot.
I visited Bratislava Castle and enjoyed the surrounding park, which reminded me of a smaller version of Viennese gardens. I also went to the UFO tower, where I had a drink with a panoramic view of the city, and stopped by the famous patisserie Kormuth for some delicious pastries.
Bratislava is an ideal spot for a relaxed day trip, full of historic streets, scenic viewpoints, and cosy cafés.
